This is a couple of weekends ago but this year we are back in exploring mode. The last few years we have headed to Manly and stayed in Q bay for most of the summer. This year we have been back under Spit Bridge for a rainy weekend in Sugarloaf bay and anchored in front of Manly Aquarium. Did a lunch stop over at Watsons Bay but it is pretty deep so better to return when we have a working windlass!!
Different New Year - looked at the fireworks from afar out at Manly. Joined by Mary and John so a good time was had by all. Happy New Year to all our family and friends.
Shane was last on Whimsey in 2000 when we were in Tobago. Had a lovely weekend out to Manly on Whimsey with Shane and his bride Jo. Caught a flathead but already had MahiMahi so threw him back!!
As we are planning to stick around Sydney for a while we have secured a mooring spot to keep the old girl safe. We have had a series of strong westerlies that made us a bit nervous when she was at anchor and we were at work. Now we have two tons of concrete and a spectacular view!
Managed to get Whimsey onto a dock practically outside our new home for St Patrick's Day. Weather was changeable but had a lovely day all the same with friends and family over in the afternoon. Tried the Rocks in the evening, but so did everyone else so we gave up on the queues and headed into the city. Sunday was the big parade, lots of fun and floats. Ready for a bit of a rest now.
